Two Post-doctoral researcher positions available

Submitted by barbarossapao on

TWO post-doctoral researcher positions are available immediately at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan.

We are looking for candidates who are interested in the following projects

1) Molecular simulations of hydrophobic surface

2) Molecular simulations of novel power-storage materials

Candidates must have experiences in molecular simulations or ab initio calculations. For experienced candidates, the annual salary could be over $30,000 USD.

Calculating the activity coefficient of aluminium in the solid state as well as in the liquid state.

Submitted by John A. Smith on

I am trying to calculate the activity of aluminium in the liquid state or solid state. The bottom line is that I want to know if Aluminium during oxidation is more active in the liquid state than in solid state. If so, how can I prove it.

Viscoelastic RVE for CNT Composites

Submitted by Mohammad Aramfard on

Hi
all,

I am Mohammad Aramfard senior student of mechanical engineering and I joined this
great forum yesterday, so I am not very familiar with regulations and rules.

I am working on modeling CNT composites using cylindrical RVE and I found up to
now that there isn`t a viscoelastic RVE for representing behavior of these
composites.

I want to know is there any works done in this field?

And also I have another question, Is there any exact
solution for elastic cylindrical RVEs?

Thank you all,

Help in ABAQUS

Submitted by drmaity on

Dear all,

In my FE model (pin on disc), I would like to define a contact property between pin and disc with a friction defination available in ABAQUS. I have assumed that friction coefficient depends on parameters like slip rate, pressure and temperature only. When i used friction coefficients with slip rate and pressure, model works without any error but if i use friction coefficients with slip rate, pressure and temperature, the model doesn't work and come up with following errors;
