A review of predictive nonlinear theories for multiscale modeling of heterogeneous materials

Since the beginning of the industrial age, material performance and design have been in the midst of innovation of many disruptive technologies. Today’s electronics, space, medical, transportation, and other industries are enriched by development, design and deployment of composite, heterogeneous and multifunctional materials. As a result, materials innovation is now considerably outpaced by other aspects from component design to product cycle. In this article, we review predictive nonlinear theories for multiscale modeling of heterogeneous materials.

Professor Chao Xu's research group has two open post-doc positions at Northwestern Polytechnical Universtiy, Xi'an, China.

The position will start from January 2017 for at least two year period of contract.

Hi everybody;

In an ansys 3D-planner model, Is it possible to vary the material properties (E) as a function of coordinates, E=f(x,y,z)? one way is to vary material properties for every element But in this condition material properties in boundry of elements is discontinuous. Is it possible to vary material properties as a function tool in ansys then map it on table similar loads and boundry condition?

please help me.
