Concrete tension damage
Hi everyone
Does anyone know about tension stiffening of concrete. Actually I have a problem with getting these values. i have an example of it and I wanna show you to clarify. So, the given information is as follows:
E= 31027 mpa
V= 0.15
Density= 2663 kg/m3
Compressive initial stress= 13 mpa
Compressive ultimate stress= 24.1 mpa
Tensile failure stress= 2.9 mpa
Therefore, for mentioned above "tensile behavior" in terms of dis. is as following: ( concrete damage plasticity )
Create new ( multiple ) parts from existing (single )part in Abaqus
Hello Everyone,
i am kind of newbie to Abaqus, in learning phase. My question is regarding creating new parts from existing part in abaqus, kind of splitting activity similar to slice feature in ANSYS Designmodeler. As far as my regular activity in Ansys workbench, i require to slice body in designmodeler, to create new volumes, to refine mesh, or to define contacts with different status.have limited access to modeling software, so basically work with simulation software pre processor.
Concrete Damaged PLasticity - Effect of Kc
I'm trying to develop yield surface of a material for a particular value of hydrostatic stress(since CDP model uses drucker-prager hypothesis).. In user manual, it is given that, for Kc value of 1, i should get a circle, and for Kc value of 0.667, i should get a shape of inverted triangle in deviatoric plane.. But I have tested for 3 values of Kc, 0.667, 0.9 and 1, for all, i'm getting the same inverted triangle in the deviatoric plane.

Dear friends,
I am working on vufiled subroutine for abaqus. I already have a named common block statement in my vfriction subroutine. I need the values from the common block be read in vufield subroutine and passed further / saved to a field variable to be able to plot a contour plot.
Can anyone share his ideas about the coding or have an advice for me?

Polytechnique Montréal is looking for a candidate with a strong solid mechanics and computational mechanics background to work on the simulation of the shot peen forming process for full scale wing panels. The project will consist of using and improving current methodologies for predicting the response of thin Al sheets submitted to shot peening. The predictions will be validated against real data generated on full scale wing panels by a major aerospace company.
