on Nastran output2 format,
Hi everybody, I am trying to write a program to read Nastran op2 files and I am having a lot of problem understanding the basic structure of these files. Anybody has a hunch ?

I am an Aerospace Engineer working at Advanced Composite Division of National Aerospace Laboratory, Bangalore.
I use Abaqus for stress analysis of composite structures.
Abaqus has five inbuilt failure
criteria for composite materials(Tsai-Hill, Tsai-WU etc.) whose contour
plots are shown by requesting output of a field variable called
CFAILURE.
I would like to know if it is
possible to request a contour plot of a user-defined failure criteria
(which is not inbuilt in abaqus).
Dear everyone,
Recently I am running a 3D FE model in ADINA to
analyse the elastic-plastic fracture behaviour.
A three-point bending specimen was modeled and the specimen was
supported by a contact roller.
Here is the problem:
In a rather small loading (load line displacement was about 0.1mm),
the program indicated that “the mesh is
too distorted” and stopped running. It also showed “No convergence” and stopped if the small strain formulation was
used.
hello,
i am trying to calculate a j integral values for a 3d crack in ansys.
i tried with a following txt code and as a input file.
the following code actully works for 2d crack for defined paths.what changes should be made to this for getting j-integral values in 3d crack?

Dear All,
I am using ANSYS 13.0 APDL to simulate a elastic model to calculate stress intensity factor. I got the solution successfully. However, I want to verify the answer with theoretical solution from crack analysis handbook. So I need to output the total force on a straightline.

Hi all,
I have a strange question that has puzzled me since last almost one year.
There are many SG-plasticity models in the technical literature, sometimes categorized as lower-order or higher-order models.
The problem is :
the constitutive models include the gradient of plastic parameters (e.g. plastic slip).
