Postdoctoral position in data-driven multiscale modeling

The Computational Physics Group at the University of Michigan has an opening for a

postdoctoral researcher in data-driven multiscale modeling. This position can be available as

early as January 1, 2021. Research in the Computational Physics Group is focused on

developing data-driven, machine learning and some artificial intelligence approaches that

interact with a range of computational methods for problems in materials physics, biophysics

and in engineering more broadly.

 

Open PhD position in computational materials interface modeling at the University of Tennessee

We have an open PhD position starting in the Fall semester 2022 at the Computational Laboratory for the Mechanics of Interfaces at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (https://www.researchgate.net/lab/Timothy-J-Truster-Lab-2 and http://clmi.utk.edu). Current potential research topics in the group are: bone densification and fracturing, composite panel defect detection, and contact modeling of soft materials.

PhD openings in Computational Solid Mechanics

The Computational Mechanics and Methods Group (CM3) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky is seeking highly self-motivated individuals who have great interest in the broad research area of computational solid mechanics and methods. Ideal applicants should have strong background in solid mechanics and great interest in computational modeling & simulation using nonlocal meshfree methods, such as peridynamics. Related research experience in material failure modeling and simulation is preferred.

This position is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University in the Solid Mechanics/Material Science area. The PhD fellow will conduct scientific study in highly multidisciplinary research projects using both experimental and computational approaches. Full financial support will be provided for both tuition and stipend.
