Two Ph.D. positions in phase-field modeling or machine learning at the Arizona State University, Tempe
There are 2 openings for Ph.D. students in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport & Energy at the Arizona State University. The Ph.D. research project will focus on developing a phase-field model for predicting and controlling the morphological evolution of interfaces during thin film deposition. Applicant should have his/her master's degree in materials, mechanical engineering or in a related field with a background in computational materials science. Desired skills include familiarity with numerical techniques, phase-field modeling, machine learning/control theory, computer programming, and experience with Paraview.
