One postdoctoral fellow position in solid mechanics/biomechanics available at Dartmouth
One postdoctoral fellow position in solid mechanics/biomechanics at Dartmouth is immediately available in the Chen group at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth (http://engineering.dartmouth.edu/people/faculty/zi-chen/). The subjects of research include, but are not limited to, cancer cell migration and mechanics of morphogenesis in embryos or plants.
Candidates with a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Physics (or any related field) with strong publication records are encouraged to submit a full CV, a cover letter stating research experience and interests, and the contact information of three references to Dr. Zi Chen at zi.chen@Dartmouth.edu. Expertise and knowledge in developmental biology, cancer biology, and/or biomechanics would be a plus.
Our group strives to provide a stimulating, interdisciplinary environment with exciting research topics and excellent colleagues where the candidates can be trained to become outstanding independent researchers, with sufficient freedom to explore their own ideas while working on well-designed projects. More details about our research can be found at http://sites.dartmouth.edu/zichen/. The position remains open until filled. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
Our group also expects to have an opening for PhD students in fall 2017. Candidates are also encouraged to explore fellowship opportunities such as the PhD innovation fellowship at Dartmouth (http://engineering.dartmouth.edu/academics/graduate/innovation/)
