EMI, the Engineering Mechanics Institute of ASCE will hold the EMI 2017 conference on June 4-7, 2017  in San Diego, California (http://jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/events/2017/emi2017/index.shtml).  It will be chaired by Prof. J.-S. Chen and Prof. Yuri Bazilevs of the University of California San Diego.

C-SWARM is center of excellence established by National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) whose primary focus is on the emerging field of predictive science.

Professor Subra Suresh, Sc.D., NAE First Recipient of the Zdeněk P. Bažant Medal for Failure and Damage Prevention

At its April 12 meeting the Executive Committee of the ASCE Board of Direction approved Professor Subra Suresh, President of Carnegie Mellon University, as the winner of the Zdeněk P. Bažant Medal for Failure and Damage Prevention Medal “for his pioneering work on failure and damage prevention of metallic and composite materials under cyclic and other loadings.”

EMI 2016 / PMC 2016 Conference at Vanderbilt University - Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to October 31, 2015

In response to a number of requests, the abstract submission deadline for the EMI 2016 / PMC 2016 Conference at Vanderbilt University has been extended to October 31, 2015.

The event is actually two co-located conferences: the Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference 2016 (EMI 2016) and the Probabilistic Mechanics & Reliability Conference 2016 (PMC 2016). The event wil be chaired by Prof. Sankaran Mahadevan and Prof. Caglar Oskay, both of Vanderbilt University.
