delamination analysis

Submitted by murugesan_kpm on
  1. i am doing M.E in tamil nadu....am doing final year project in composites material...i.e., delamination analysis of composite material in glass fiber with epoxy.....i do the analysis in ANSYS 12...i saw in ANSYS there is APDL program as same as my project...i.e., VM 248.......i need step by step instruction of APDL program.....pls hepl me as soon as possible..........

Reinforced concrete beam in ANSYS 11

Submitted by grishma on

Hello,

I am trying to model a reinforced concrete beam in ANSYS 11. This software is new to me and I am having some problem in defining the reinforcement using the software. I have found some of the similar work in ANSYS have used SOLID 65 for concrete and LINK 8 for reinforcement. But I don't know how to input the link element as reinforcement. Since I am just starting to use ANSYS, can somebody please help me by providing some of the basic steps to model a reinforced concrete beam?

Thanks.

How to write an input ABAQUS file containing UMAT and USDFLD together

Submitted by Mehdi Naderi on

Hi everyone,

I am trying to model composite failure in abaqus. I used USDFLD to check different failure mode (fiber tension/compression, matrix tension/compression,..) based on available theory of failure. After checking the failure, if any element fails, the material property like stiffness will suddenly reduces to near zero. At this time i need to chnage material stiffness in UMAT and getting new stress distribution.

My problem is in the input file (inp file) how can I use both command for USDFLD and UMAT?

Here is a part of my input file:

MATLAB for thermal simulation

Submitted by riscy00 on

I'm currently studying FEA/CFD and BEM for thermal simulation of custom dies within custom package mounted on custom PCB with encapsulate material (epoxy). I getting familar with CFD concept which seem overkill from ANSYS IcePack (too expensive) but exploring BEM technology from E3D in france (via Vishay).

I have access to MATLAB from other company to try it out for thermal modelling (BEM).

Seismic Analysis

Submitted by SivaSrinivasKolukula on

Hi

I am doing seismic analysis of Fluid filled cylindrical steel tanks using FEM. In this analysis I m supposed to find Base Shear and Overturning moment. Steel tank is thin shell and is flexible. For the complete loading of the shell I have its stress field i.e I have Nxx, Nxy, Nyy, Mxx, Mxy, Myy components of the thin shells middle surface. They are per unit length. Using these components how I can find Base Shear and OTM?

      Any reference/suggestion for this study....

Thanks in advance

Srinivas
