Get ready on Wednesday November 13, 2024 at 14:30, when the event starts online. Access to it is completely free, you must only register (and accept that your name and your home institution will be listed among participants).

2nd Workshop on Thermodynamics of Fatigue Process

Submitted by pragtic on

We did it some 16 months ago - the 1st volume of this new online workshop was run without any budget and without any costs. Simply, a meeting place for researchers focused on a similar topic, and willing to share their experience with a broad auditorium. The content still can be found on our website, including records from all lectures.

A fresh perspective on the evaluation of fatigue onset in metals

Submitted by enrico.salvati1 on

Many researchers and engineers view mechanical fatigue of metals as a stagnated field, evidenced by the lack of substantially novel design approaches against fatigue in recent decades. However, our current capability to investigate, probe, and model the multiscale mechanisms of fatigue damaging processes may turn out to be pivotal for next-generation paradigms for the assessment of fatigue.

5 Zoom Meetings for those interested to join FABER Action

Submitted by pragtic on

FABER networking project is funded for next four years by the COST Association. Its goal is to solve the current deadlock in validating the metal fatigue life evaluation methods and solvers by establishing benchmark sets of curated experimental fatigue data, with the focus set on the high-cycle fatigue category above all.

FABER (Fatigue Benchmark Repository) to be funded by COST. Join us!

A dream came true, and the fifth submission of this networking project to COST Association was approved for funding.

It will start from November 2024 for the total duration of 4 years. The broad cooperation will focus on developing tools and data sets, which can streamline research and validation of fatigue estimation criteria.

Workshop on Computational Fatigue Analysis 2023 – FKM-Guideline Non-Linear

Submitted by pragtic on

From October 30 to November 1, 2023, we hold 11th Workshop on Computational Fatigue Analysis in Prague, Czechia. This time, we chose the attractive topic of the latest extension of the FKM-Guideline for Analytical Strength Assessment. This guideline developed for years by FKM Association in Germany provides clear description how to deal with static and fatigue analysis of industrial components.

Lecture by P. Yadegari on “Fatigue strength of ultra-high strength steels and surface-hardened components”

Submitted by pragtic on

Lecture by Patrick Yadegari on “Fatigue strength of ultra-high strength steels and surface-hardened components” will be held on-line on Tuesday September 5 at 3PM CET. Its approximate duration is expected 1 hour, but it will depend on the scope of the discussion and the questions of participants. If you wish to take part, please write me to papuga [at] pragtic.com (papuga[at]pragtic[dot]com), so that I could send you the access link to the Zoom platform.

1st Workshop on Thermodynamics of Fatigue Process

Submitted by pragtic on

The workshop takes place on-line only on June 14 from 2 PM CET. It is intended to serve as a networking event, where interested researchers present their focused domain. The subsequent brainstorming will help us to evaluate whether there is a will for a broader cooperation among the participants, and if to transform this workshop into something more regular.

If you do not feel strong enough to present, you are still invited to join us - simply let me know to my e-mail address to get the access to the workshop. No fee requested.
