PhD Position in Computational Mechanics/Biomechanics at Villanova University

Submitted by urala on

There is an immediate opening for a PhD student
position with a target start date of August 2014 in the Computational
Biomechanics and Solid Mechanics Laboratory at Villanova University.

Research projects will be in the general area of
computational mechanics with an emphasis on biological materials. Candidates
with a strong background and interest in mechanics, biomechanics and
computational modeling are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a Master’s
degree and previous research experience are preferred.

Research Assistant position available

Submitted by Sulin Zhang on

My group in the Deaprtment of Engineering Science & Mechanics /Biomedical Engineering has an immediate RA opening, expected to start from the Fall of 2014.

The student of this position will be working on establishing computational mechanics models incorporating essential electrochemical details to study the performance and degradation of battery materials.  We use both continuum theories as well as molecular dynamics as essential tools for simulations. The student will also have the opportunities to work with experimental team members on biomechanics.

Two PhD positions in computational solid mechanics at MINES ParisTech

Submitted by Vladislav Yastrebov on

1. The focus of the first PhD project is numerical methods in contact mechanics

"Development of advanced numerical methods in contact mechanics for aerospace applications"

2. The second PhD project aims at understanding of deformation and failure of embedded micro-chips via finite element analysis + some developments in finite element code Z-set

"Development of advanced multi-scale numerical methods for mechanical simulation of fabric embedded microelectronic devices"

Looking for a postdoctoral position in FSI and cavitation phenomena

Submitted by delatorre on

My name is Oscar and I am currently seeking a postdoctoral position in experimental fluid mechanics (focused on FSI and cavitation phenomena). After completing my PhD ("Influence of cavitation on the dynamic response of hydrofoils") I want now to continue my research career in a related topic.
