Submitted by Qingda Yang on
We have a likely opening for a postdoctoral theorist to work with Dr. Qingda Yang (University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida) and Drs. Dave Marshall and Brian Cox (Teledyne Scientific Co LLC, Thousand Oaks, California).  The project involves development of advanced computational methods for simulating discrete damage evolution in composite materials and the application of simulations to the interpretation and analysis of experiments, including new high temperature mCT and image correlation experiments being conducted at UC Berkeley and UC Santa Barbara, respectively.

Looking for a Post-Doc position on Computational Geomechanics

Submitted by KamalCDas on

My name is Kamal C. Das and I am doing research on Computational Geomechanics at IIT Kharagpur,
India. I have submitted my Ph.D. thesis, titled 'Enriched Finite Element Method
and Application in Reinforced Jointed Rock Mass' on August 21, 2012. Currently,
I am looking for a post doctoral position.

To
introduce myself as a researcher, I had a bachelor and master degree in
Mathematics. As I always wanted to see myself
solving mathematical problems with direct applications, I started my career as

Post doctoral position available--nanophotonics

At the nanobiophysics laboratory we are looking for a post doc to participate on an experimental work regarding the tuning of fluorescence in nanoparticles under the effect of pressure. We believe that it is the strain rather the pressure that is causing the shift in the emission. We are also investigating this effect using numerical models. While we are looking for an experimentalist urgently we will be looking for a theoretician/numerical guy in a year. All welcome if you have the right attitude and motivation.
