Postdoctoral Position in probabilistic multiscale/multiresolution formulations

Submitted by psk on

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the areas of multiscale/multiresolution formulations and analysis in computational mechanics/physics. The project entails investigation of stochastic upscaling techniques and derivations of reduced-order models. Interested applicants should preferably have backround in uncertainty modeling and/or statistical learning. Proficiency in scientific computing and programming is necessary.

Inquiries and applications (including a detailed CV with names of three references) should be directed to:

Postdoctoral position in Computational Solid Mechanics - School Of Mechanical Engineering Purdue University

Submitted by marisolkoslowski on
A postdoctoral position is available starting Fall 2008 in the area of computational solid mechanics. A successful candidate is expected to have a strong background in multiscale modeling and programming experience. While experience in plasticity using finite element methods or dislocation dynamics is a plus , all outstanding candidates will be considered.

Post-Doctoral Opportunities on Molecular Modeling, Strachan Group, MSE, Purdue University

Submitted by strachan on

We are seeking to hire an outstanding candidate as a post-doctoral fellow to work on large-scale molecular dynamics of polymers and polymer composites. The project focuses on the characterization of the molecular mechanisms that govern the mechanical responseof these materials. The successful candidate will work in the Strachan group and will have the opportunity to interact with experimentalists and theoreticians in academia, industry and national labs.
