The Artificial Organs Lab in the Department of Surgery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, is a national leader in the development of artificial lungs and hearts, with a focus on blood-contacting devices such as circulatory support systems, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and blood pumps. The Cardiovascular Tissue Mechanics Lab at Emory University has an immediate opening for a postdoc position in cardiovascular fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulation. Candidates who have a background in FSI simulation, CFD and/or related fluid mechanics are highly encouraged to apply. The position could include a secondary affiliate appointment at Georgia Tech, providing access to resources at both Emory University and Georgia Tech.

Your background: Master degree in Mechanics, Materials science or related topics. Knowledge of finite element modelling, strength of materials, Abaqus, and programmingh languages, preferably Python (numpy). Demonstrated experience in preparing scientific publications is an advantage. 

I am looking for a postdoctoral research assistant to join my group at the University of Oxford to study the mechanical and degradation behaviour of biodegradable polymers. The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a fixed term contract until 31st July 2026. Possible extension will depend on funding availability.

We have multiple (Direct) PhD positions in the field of micromechanics of polycrystals, e.g., metals and alloys as well as ceramics. Our research focuses on finite element modelling and diffraction-based characterization of deformation and fracture of polycrystalline materials. Currently our research themes include:

Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position in the area of crystal plasticity and finite element modeling of advanced materials. This position is a full-time position at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and the selected applicant can start effective immediately.

The aim of the project is to understand the fracture of advanced materials under various thermomechanical loads and irradiation environments. The selected applicant will collaborate with other group members of Multiscale Deformation Lab.
