PhD positions available at Polytechnique Montréal and McGill universities on shot peening with 5 aerospace companies

Submitted by martin.levesque on

Ecole Polytechnique and McGill are seeking two PhD candidates for a large project aiming at understanding the effects of shot peening on the fatigue lives of aerospace components. The project involves 8 PhD students that will be working in close collaboration. The project is co-funded by the Canadian goverment and 5 leading aerospace companies located in Montréal. Some projects involve internships at these companies.

We are seeking two students for the following projects:

Abaqus UMAT implementation

Hi,

I have a thermo-mechanical constitutive model for polymer and want to implement it in ABAQUS through two user subroutines namely UMAT and UEXPAN but I dont know how to use them together. Also, in UEXPAN, I need to pass in the strain tensor as information but I dont see 'STRAN' variable in the list of variables passed in to UEXPAN in Abaqus documentation. Does anyone know answer to this?

Thanks,

Mandar

Hello,

This is my first post in imechanica and i hope you can help me, im working in my finall project to obtain my MsC, im working in the simulation of crack growth in freeting fatigue, i found usefull the article post in imechanica by Eugenio Giner node/4338. Im having problems with the preprocessin files, Can you help me with some information about how to create the input files? (i have some basics using ABAQUS CAE, but i dont know how to create the input files like mOXY.prn, TopNox see article)
