strains from the given Displacements with given X Y values by Radial Basis Function Thin Plate Spline in MATLAB

Submitted by Zuhaib Nazir on

Dear Researchers

I have attach a text file with this message in which I have written all my code. I have applied the Radial Basis Function (interpolation) to find approximated displacements.

f = RBF(r)*a

f = given values e-g displacements to be approximate

RBF(r)= Radal Basis function (Thin Plate spline)

a= Radial Basis Function coefficient

X= x distance from the origin (given) (first column of disppoints)

(ABAQUS CAE) piezoelectric analysis

Submitted by ri3trio on

Hello.

I'm doing piezoelectric analysis using abaqus CAE v6.12.

Specifically, what I'm doing now is to make the bimorph piezoelectric harvester model using Abaqus CAE

and to validate my model.

My FE model is made based on the model developed by A Erturk and D J Inman in their paper,

'An experimentally validated bimorph cantilever model for piezoelectric energy harvesting from base excitations'

They presented the analytical solution for voltage output and experimental validation is also presented in this paper.

Thermo-mechanical analysis ( Heat transfer due to radiation and convection)

Submitted by manishkr on

Hi,
I know you place tremendous value on your time so I’ll be brief.
I am trying to do a thermo-mechanical analysis of a closed region (H=75cm). In this region, at the bottom, the Temperature is around 700 degree. A structural beam is placed at the height of 25 cm from the bottom surface in closed region.
I want to simulate the heat transfer from the bottom surface to beam due to convection (because air is there as a medium in closed region) and radiation.

Merge mesh in Abaqus

Submitted by manojbrutal.v@… on

Hi I tried to mesh these two plates with two cases having different geometries. I am trying to achieve something similar in complex geometry in abaqus. But I think the problem is with shapes or if it is something else, please help me with this. I tried in solid elements too it did not work either. I have attached image where you can see two cases

Please see the attached file for detailed view

Simpleware Case Study: Homogenisation of the Material Properties of Multi-Phase Materials

Submitted by Simpleware on

Modelling large structures containing multiple phases over much shorter length scales is often very difficult. Learn how Double Precision Consultancy in the UK solved this problem using Simpleware software when analysing a Mussel shell acquired using X-ray tomography.
