Hi!

I am wondering if anyone here knows of a generic heat engine simulator. I.e. something that can simulate the behavior of reciprocating engines, Stirling engines, and so forth.

The outputs I'm interested in include things like power and efficiency. The input variables that I would play around with include engine dimensions and material properties.

how can i model a Composite of 3 layup? ABAQUS

Submitted by booklee on

hi``eveybody.

I am new to ABAQUS,have a model to simulation.

it has 3 plies that are combined with glue.

the core ist polymer and the upper, lower ply is the same steel.

the 3 plies have eigenvalue of thichness

should i build 3 parts,or only 1 part in the parts model?

when i cannot ignore the glue, thus what should i do?

should i use Create Composite layup in the Property model or create a solid Composite

 thanks.

How can I find the exess pore water pressure in my dynamic soil model

Submitted by alishafi on

Dear friends

I've prepared a dynamic model of saturated loose sandy soil with abaqus software. Unfortunately, after  running the model, the pore water pressure is didn't raise up. I don't know if any kind of subroutines I must use or anything else. I'm in the final step of  my thesis analysisand I really need your helps.

Sincerely yours

Hi, I have difficulties in dealing with contacts in Adams/View:

ERROR:    Only solids are supported in 3d contacts, some of the geometries used in contact are not valid solids.

I create the parts by writing a command file. Would anyone konw what causes this error? Thanks!

Surface Based Fluid Cavities, and inflators

I've been tasked with creating a 3D model of a demo inflatable
structure here in our lab. The goal is to inflate it in ABAQUS, and I
have been making some progress in using the *FLUID CAVITY keyword.
However I'm noticing odd things in my results. I have the pressure of
the gas increase to 4psi in a tabular form, however as I watch the
frame by frame, the stress concentrations on the structure vary oddly,
and the model deforms oddly. Almost as if it was a ball being pressed
back and forth against the floor, expand contract, that kind of deal.

for example i need to send a list like 4 file names as first argument, how can do the same, can any one help me in doing the same,

if any example , that helps me more....

Thanks in advance....

waiting for the reply....
