We would like to draw your attention to the following symposium at the 17th European Mechanics of Materials Conference (EMMC17) to be held in Madrid, May 27-29, 2020:

S9: Coupled Problems in Material Mechanics 

which aims to gather scientists working across a variety of material systems to share recent advances in the modelling and simulation of multiphysics and coupled-field problems in solid mechanics. Experimental approaches in direct relation with model identification and validation are also welcome.

We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher to perform original research on computational fluid dynamics, with particular emphasis on biofluids. The successful candidate will develop numerical methods to model coupled processes on high-performance computing platforms. This position is in the Gomez Research Group (https://engineering.purdue.edu/gomez/) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue. This is a one-year postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of three years.

The Mechanics and Computation Group (Department of Mechanical Engineering) at Stanford University is seeking applicants for the “Stephen Timoshenko Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship.” This appointment is for a term of two years, beginning in September 2020.

I would like to advertise several openings for Ph.D. students in my recently-established research group, the Dynamic Structures Laboratory at Stony Brook University. The intended starting semester is Fall 2020.

A good applicant has a background in engineering, physics or math, and is passionate about mechanics and its application to structural systems at various lengthscales. An ideal applicant has also coding experience, likes "DIY" and/or arts&crafts, and is open to writing in LaTeX.
