PostDoctoral Research Associate Position in Dental Material Mechanical and Chemical Testing and Analysis

Submitted by cethia on

The University of
Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry Department of Oral and
Craniofacial Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in
mechanical and chemical analytical testing of mineralized tooth
structure.  The candidate must be proficient with technologies such as
AFM-nanoindentation, scanning acoustic microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy,
and FTIR spectroscopy and possibly assist in numerical analyses from these

How to model Carbon nano-tubes in ABAQUS

Submitted by p.haghdoust on

Dear Colleagues

I want to start some research on the Carbon nano - tubes.

In the begining I need to model a CNT in the ABAQUS.

I wrote a code for generating the xyz Coordinates of the atoms in a CNT.

The problem is that I can not import them in abaqus.

Does anyone has an Idea ?

Thanks in advance

Distinguished Researcher to Speak at NJIT on Preventing Bone Loss

Submitted by TanjaLeijs on

Biomedical researcher Stephen C. Cowin will describe a promising model for studying nutrient transport from the vascular system to bone tissue

Preventing bone deterioration is a critical aspect of combating osteoporosis, improving bone implants, and even making long-term space flight possible, such as voyages to Mars and beyond. On April 9, noted biomedical researcher Stephen C. Cowin will describe a promising model for studying nutrient transport from the vascular system to bone tissue, transport that has a direct bearing on the prevention of bone loss.

Fracture mechanics

Submitted by yogesh7332 on

Hi

i am new new the the field of fracture mechanics i donot how to start it. can some one send some tutorial or other kind of help in doing fracture mechanics of nanocomposite using any software. Tutorials even of composites fracture mechanics using software so that i can have a idea about the fracture.

thanks in advance

Postdoctoral Position Available at University of Western Ontario,Canada

Submitted by Zhi Yan on

Position is available for a postdoctoral fellow to carry out an industry sponsored project on carbon fiber composite modeling. The contract is initiated for one year, with possible extension if work progresses satisfactorily. The research will focus on

 (1)  micromechanics modeling of elastic and viscoplastic behavior of injection molded carbon fiber composites;

 (2)  homogenization techniques and constitutive model development for vibration, strength and impact simulations of carbon fiber composites.
