Indo-Danish Bilateral Workshop on “Future Composite Technologies for Wind Turbine Blades” October 8-9, 2012 at IIT DELHI

Submitted by rtdp1975 on

An Indo-Danish bilateral workshop on “Future Composite Technologies for Wind Turbine Blades” was jointly organized by the Department of Wind Energy, Technical University of Denmark and Applied Mechanics Department, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India. We think this is an exciting Workshop covering several research topics relates to wind turbine blades – design and manufacturing, new computational methods, processing and materials characterization techniques.

ansys mechanical apdl on non linear material model

Submitted by preet on

hi....i m working on ansys(mehanical apdl).....here i m doing non linear material model analysis of a two panel slab....i have chosen material model 1 as multilinear elastic and entered the graph in that and took material no.2 for steel with EX=2E8,PR=.33....units are in SI.....NOW I m getting the warning as"For material 1 at temperature 0 has a tangent slope of its stress strain curve <75000> greater than EX <6.0134717-154>..............can anyone suggest some solution for this....

Complex interplay of nonlinear processes in dielectric elastomers.

Submitted by Jian ZHU on

A combination of experiment and theory shows that dielectric elastomers exhibit complex interplay of nonlinear processes. Membranes of a dielectric elastomer are prepared in various states of prestretches by using rigid clamps and mechanical forces.

thermal ratchetting with abaqus

Submitted by s_h on

i am working to thermal ratchetting preaaure vesseles and pipes

and I'm doing with the software abaqus(combined hardening model)

but i have problem:

i use 2 step in abaqus

1-general-static for pressure

2-coupled-temp displacement for thermal loading

but when in submit abaqus -i get this eror

combined hardening dont use couled temp-displacement?

what is my problem?????????????

Tensile stresses in an elastic body accelerated by an attractive body force

Submitted by Jayadeep U. B. on

Dear all,

Can someone suggest me literature where the problem "tensile stresses developed in an elastic body accelerated by an attractive body force" is discussed.  The situation is similar to finding the stresses developed in a celestial body falling into black hole (though my interest is in impact with adhesive forces).

The problem is about solving the inhomogeneous wave equation, where inhomogeneous part is due to the attractive force.  So any helpful hints in that direction will also be useful.
