Error runing LS-DYNA explosion model, NEED HELP ?

Hello There

I as a student of master of structural engineering, try to do a project on simulating the effect of explosion on the concrete by using LS-DYNA as the hydrocode.

I've a problem running my model, that is an error by means of insufficient memory (about 900,000,000 words short), and I'm not able to increase it beyond 300,000,000. Then if there is anything that could help I'll be very appreciated if you could announce.

Just got a message from Lesley Lam, iMechanica user number 1, as follows.  Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences IT is in the process of moving our servers to a faster, newer host.  As part of this process, I would like to take down iMechanica for about 10 minutes on Friday October 3rd at 10am.  I am hoping this will improve performance and reliability on the machine as well.

chimaney silencer + acoustic + ASME standard

Dear All my friends,

I have to design silencer at chimaney outlet. The silencer can be easily designed for mechanical strength as per ASME section VIII standard. But now I have to design the silencer from acoustic point of view as I have to consider the db level of the sound generated due to very high velocity flue gases.

 please tell me which ASME standard can I follow to meet the requirement from acoustic point of views.

Necking Analysis of Strain Softening Materials ...

Hi all.

I'm studying the high temperature viscoplastic behavior of titanium alloys. It is well known that at high temperature range, deformation induced dynamic recrystallization (DRX) causes dramatically strain softening. Such strain softening behavior is also treated as plastic instable according to literatures.

My name is Pawel and I am a Junior in Harvard College, studying Mechanical and Materials Science and Engineering.

The only course in solid mechanics I've taken so far is the Harvard's undergraduate intro course ES 120 - I guess it's similar to intro courses offered at other universities. Bits and pieces of solid mechanics also appeared in some other courses, but mostly in a very basic form.

Hi everyone, very glad to see you here. My name is Kejie Zhao, a first year phd student working in Prof.Zhigang Suo's group (www.seas.harvard.edu/suo). My concentration is solid mechanics with the same name of this course, it also signifies its importance to my future research. I graduate from Xi'an Jiaotong University in China before coming to Harvard. There I obtained my bachelor and master degree in Engineering Mechanics and Solid Mechanics respectively.
