This is a 9 months post-doc position on modelling crack problems at Portsmouth University (UK). 

The project will focus on using Abaqus to model the full field near-tip strains. Corresponding experimental data has been collected for model validation using Digital Image Correlation. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has funded a 2 year project to BITS Pilani (Goa and Hyderabad campuses). The simulation project will model atomistic fracture in amorphous silica, with application to the Thermal Protection System (TPS) of the Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV).
