A PhD position is available in the area of mechanics of materials. Applicants with a strong background in finite element modelling, crystal plasticity finite element, and materials characterization are recommended to apply.

The Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Group at Drexel http://tamg.mem.drexel.edu/ is looking for exceptional candidates to fill two positions.

The first position requires expertise in combined computational and experimental mechanics to work on externally funded project with ITAR restrictions that target multiscale and multiphysics aspects of damage in advanced materials. The Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University and ETH Zurich, Switzerland and MEDISIM at École Polytechnique/INRIA Paris, France jointly develop Magnetic Resonance image-guided computational models of the heart.
