Hello,
I need suggestions/advice regarding quick starting point for getting strains (Green-Lagrangian) from displacement vector field defined over nodes of a triangular mesh ?
I understand that this is a well established theory, however, I was wondering if I can avoid reinventing the wheel !
Can someone help me regarding which would be the fastest way to get there ( compute strains )?
Thanks,
Dear all,
In micomechanics, homogenization of heterogeneous
materials based on FEM is traditional. Homogenization based on FFT technique has been recently found (in many literatures) to have much more advantages
in term of accuracy, computational cost and resource consumption.
I am wondering why FEMs are still
widely used in education, research, and industries of
generally
computational
mechanics ?
Please could anyone help me to clarify
my question?
Thanks

Dear All,
I am using ANSYS 13.0 APDL to simulate a elastic model to calculate stress intensity factor. I got the solution successfully. However, I want to verify the answer with theoretical solution from crack analysis handbook. So I need to output the total force on a straightline.

Hi all,
I have a strange question that has puzzled me since last almost one year.
There are many SG-plasticity models in the technical literature, sometimes categorized as lower-order or higher-order models.
The problem is :
the constitutive models include the gradient of plastic parameters (e.g. plastic slip).
Dear All,
I am looking for some paper on material models for polymer nanocomposite
in high strain rate. I will be grateful if someone introduce me some good
paper.

Hello
I am a freshman to iMechanica, I have a question and hope to get some help. I am currently having a project analyzing hydraulic fracture propagation path. And I would like to build up a finite element model use either Abaqus or COMSOL. I am wondering which software would be more appropriate for this reservoir geomechanic research project. Thanks!
