finite eleminte model

Submitted by khalidkhtatba on

Dear Guys,

I AM NEW PHD STUDENT and my project is to build a finite eleminte model based on MRI data of an index finger and the tissue inside it.  I'm wondering how to start it and what is the best way to go about it.  I've not covered all the aspects of my project or the first step to start it.  I'm looking for some advice regarding this.

Thanks for your reply

viscoelasticity property material

hi

please wgo can tell me what does mean the folowings:

-", the modulus ratio in the first term in the Prony series expansion of the shear relaxation modulus."

-", the modulus ratio in the first term in the Prony series expansion of the bulk relaxation modulus."

and how to calculate them in abaqus

post tension in Abaqus

Submitted by Tima on

Hello,

Am working on post tension prestressed concrete with Abaqus,

1-  I would like to know where to find the "initial conditions option and prestress hold" in which module??

2- Rebar option: as per the Help, it is mentioned that i can define a rebar as individual element not as rebar layer in a shell/membrane element. but also couldn't be able to find how and in which module?

Any suggestions?

Wating for a quick feedback

thanks

Plotting the Johnson-Cook strength model

Submitted by HS_impact on

I'm trying to plot the stress-strain curve described by the Johnson-Cook strength (and eventually damage) models. The strength model is defined as:

σ=[A+Bεn][1+C ln(ε_dot*)][1-T*m]

where A, B, C, n, and m are material constants, ε_dot* is the non-dimensionalized strain rate, and T* is the homologous temperature where T*=(T-T0)/(Tmelt-T0)

Reliability and engineering mechanics

The word "failure" can mean different things to different people.  Over the past couple of years, my interactions with various groups from industry has shown me that for some people failure means catastropic fracture/buckling while for others it can mean highly localized plastic yielding.  Even for relatively simple sandwich composite structures, there is no clearly agreed upon definition of the word.

UMAT code for crystal plasticity

Submitted by Panos Efthymiadis on

Dear all,

I would like to ask you something about prof.
Huang's subroutine. I want to verify the code, by using published
stress-strain data. But when I am plotting my stress -strain curve I am
always getting a straight line instead of a curve that shows the hardening effect. What could be a reason for this problem?

         Regards,

         Panos

p.s. I am using a single crystal, single element, and only modify the crystal orientation

Plastic Collapse for a pressurised vessel

Submitted by Jad Antonios Jelwan on

Hi there ,

 I'm a researcher from UNSW sydney .

I'm working on the elastic-plastic-creep based on the exhaution of energy density.

I've came with a new idea for plastic collapse ,which is based on the exhausion of enrgy .

The work is not yet publish , because I would like to ask your help here .

Does anyone know or would like to help me to have an APDL file for plastic collapse analysis in ANSYS

Thanks for advance
