Hi,

I am tyring to learn Abaqus for my reserach work. I was easily able to work with  Abaqus CAE. However  I am not able to run Abaqus through a DOS window. Also, the tutorials mention commands like 'abaqus fetch' which do not work on the command line when I input them. It always shows an error saying that 'abaqus' is not a internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Can somebody help me with this? Is there any particular part of the Manual or help section that I can read to find out how to do this?

Fortran 90 library for maximum-entropy basis functions

Submitted by N. Sukumar on

Attached is a tar archive for a Fortran 90 library to compute maximum-entropy basis functions.  I have used the G95 compiler. The manual in PDF is also attached and a html version of the same is also available, which provide details on how to install the code and its capabilities. The library is released under the GNU Lesser GPL version 3 license.

Hello,

I am a new user of Abaqus and need to model a glued connection between 2 solid elements (the nodes on both elements must have same displacement, no relative movement between them). In other software (cosmos/m for instance) this is accomplished by merging these overlapping nodes.

I need to do this in Abaqus, looked in the huge Abaqus documentation, but it is hard to find this for complete beginner. Please help.

Good morning, I am studying a cantilever hollow beam both with FEM (Ansys) and MULTYBODY (MSC Adams).

Do anybody knows why I get different mode shapes performing modal analysis with the two codes? (e.g. 3rd mode in Adams is torsional while ansys has not any torsion modes!!)

Thank you very much

Need softwares that can Model Multilayer Thin Film Coatings

Submitted by SudhirBrahmandam on

Hi,

I want to know what are some useful softwares in which I can simulate multilayer coatings in terms of thermal (CTE mismatch) stresses, and stresses due to contact type loading. I am looking for softwares that are easy to use by a person like me who has an experimental background, does not have exposure to using Abaqus, but can use softwares like Matlab.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,

Sudhir
