Strain Hardening Cementitious Composite (SHCC) layer for crack width control in reinforced concrete

Submitted by shavijabranko on

Dear all,

Our group has recently performed a study on using ductile concrete, so called SHCC, as a surface layer in reinforced concrete structures in order to control the crack width. This will enable engineers to reduce the amount of reinforcement needed for crack control by using an advanced concrete type only where it is needed, thereby limiting the costs.
