Higher-order adaptive finite-element methods for Kohn-Sham density functional theory
Dear Colleagues,
I wish to share with you our recent article on "Higher-order adaptive finite-element method for Kohn-Sham density functional theory", which will soon appear in the Journal of Computational Physics. Below is the abstract and attached is a preprint of the article.

Simulation of delamination using seam in Abaqus
Hi
I am trying to simulate a delamination in a multilayer plate using seam in abaqus. Has any body utilized this function for the same purpose?
Thanking you
Bending of cables : a stick-slip model
Bending of cables and, for that matter, of any helical strand system (such as overhead electrical conductors) is a challenging solid mechanics problem, with geometry and multibody frictional contact aspects. As seen in several recent papers, one workable approach is based on Coulomb’s laws of friction. An earlier contribution by Lehanneur (1949), published in French, has generally been ignored. The attached report presents a translation into English (including a presentation) of this most interesting work.
Saturated Soil Material Property in abaqus
Hello everyone,
I need an urgent help. I have no idea how to define two phase poroelastic soil in abaqus. Water and soil should be treated as two different materials rather than a single material. And how to define the poroelasticity (saturated soil). Can abaqus perform these analysis.

Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar Equipment
Many prior posts asked about manufacturers of Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar equipment. REL Inc in Calumet MI (http://www.relinc.net/products/hopkinson-bar/) designs, builds & installs custom equipment to meet your requirements. We offer a university discount. And, we provide in-house testing; manufacturing of samples, etc. A new offering in this field is our SurePulse software which simplifies the data acquisition effort for Hopkinson bar testing.

Overall Mechanical Response of Particle-Reinforced Elastomers at Finite Strains
[img_assist|nid=15079|title=Elastomers Reinforced by Spherical Particles Under Different Loading Conditions|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=300|height=264]Abstract An approximate homogenization method is proposed and used to obtain estimates for the effective constitutive behavior and associated microstructure evolution in hyperelastic composites undergoing finite-strain deformations.
