The Mechanical Laboratory of Sousse (LMS) of the National School of Engineers of Sousse intends to organize annual scientific workshop on one of the four research themes identified by the laboratory teams. This first Workshop is proposed by the LMS team: “Fatigue of Materials and Structures”. The proposed theme is ” Mechanical performance of materials: From experiments to predictive approaches”.

The Perspective papers published in Journal of Applied Mechanics have attracted a lot of readers, such as the first perspective paper by Huajian Gao (Brown University) which has been downloaded for >8,000 times. A perspective paper, as invited by the editor of JAM, is very short (2~3 pages) and easy to read (like Readers' Digest) to reveal some emerging directions, or some important discoveries in clasical directions, in mechanics.

I am a PhD Student and I am working on the shear behavior of reinforced concrete structures.I am a new user of Abaqus. I have simulated a concrete panel in a cobination with double steel rebars all together. The constraint between the steel grid an the Reinforce concrete element was the Ebbeded Region.After the analysis the job is aborted and the report of the error is 700 elements have missing property definitions.The elements have been identified i element set ErrElemMissingSection.
