A new paper on  the OEC fatigue problem: “Determination of Early Failure Sources and Mechanisms for Al 99.7% and Al-Mg-Si Alloy Bare Conductors Used in Aerial Transmission Lines”, by S. Karabay and E. Feyzullahoglu. Paper has been accepted for publication in March 2014 in the “Engineering Failure Analysis” journal. Applications are invited for a PhD position (four years) and a post-doctoral position (three years) in the area of computational modelling in the Computational Mechanics of Materials group of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

The successful applicants will work with Dr. Angelo Simone on a project funded by the European Research Council through the ERC Consolidator grant StruBa (Computational Modelling of Structural Batteries). The positions are to commence in June 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
