Submitted by John E. Dolbow on

The deadline to submit an abstract to the 12th US National Congress on Computational Mechanics , to be held in Raleigh this summer, has been extended to February 28, 2013.  Those interested in participating in the Congress should submit their abstracts as soon as possible as we do not plan to extend the deadline again.  Students and postdoctoral fellows should note that there are travel awards  available for the Congress.

fatigue analysis using ABAQUS

Submitted by kaleemakhtar on

I am new ABAQUS user, i want to learn ABAQUS for the analyis of failure of material i.e fracture, creep and fatigue. my aim is get analysis of a fatigue analysis of rotating and bending welded alloy. can you please help me in doing this analysis on ABAQUS.........please send any fatigue tutorial of ABAQUS..

Reading abaqus field output data using python scripts in an especial coordinate (x,y,z location) and not node/element set

Submitted by Hidroxid on

Hello everyone,

I am using python scripts to extract the field output (displacements) in a nodeset (which was defined in the model) and it does not seem that difficult but I have a question regarding reading output data for a especial coordinate (x,y,z location) and not the node label since when you change the discretization you lose the previous node labels. Does anyone have any idea how to do so?

Fracture using cohesive elements

Submitted by yashaswi.prateek on

Hi everyone ,

I'm Yashaswi Prateek  doing by final year project on fracture in composites using ABAQUS. I'm new to ABAQUS and have been trying to do some tutorials to get a better understanding of the software. After basic tutorials , i've started trying to generate a model using cohesive elements where i got stuck up. I have tried the procedure in Abaqus user manual and is showing some errors regarding interaction properties and creating a step.  It would be great help if someone could help me regarding how to model with cohesive elements.
