A new postdoctoral fellow position will start on 1 November 2015 at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The position is in the area of theoretical and computational modeling of dynamic failure in soft solids. The potential candidate should have a Ph.D.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University (http://me.stanford.edu/) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor). Applications will be reviewed across all disciplines of mechanical engineering. As part of recent strategic planning, the department has identified special hiring needs and opportunities in controls, robotics, manufacturing, and biomedical engineering.
MIT invites top early career women in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and related domains (e.g. mechanics, materials, environmental and earth science) who are interested in careers in academia to apply to attend this new innovative workshop to be held on the MIT campus.

Hi all,
I have a 20 node hexahedral "Thermomechanical" element in our inhouse software which i am trying to validate against Abaqus .
The problem is, the displacements, nodal forces match exactly ( Just compared the max min values in the legends! and checked a few random nodes).
The Abaqus input file is attached:
The problem is as follows:
One single element is chosen with a linear elastic material model (Some parameters are chosen in an unphysical manner but here the idea is
to just validate the implementation):

Hello evryone,
Hi everybody,
I am trying to run a UVMAT subroutine in abaqus 6.13.2
I installed Intel fortran composer XE (2011.1.127) and Visual Studio 2008. I changed the passes for abaqus command and abaqus cae.
At the end when I want to verify my installation, the verification for Abaqus/Standard with using subroutine passes, but for Abaqus/Explicit with using subroutine gives me an error. This is a runtime error (R6034) and it is about the microsoft visual c++ runtime library.
Do you have any idea about this error?
Thanks a lot
