Endurica, LLC is a growing software and consulting services company headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, USA. The
company develops and sells solutions that enable customers to manage durability of elastomeric products. Our
physics-based solutions include computer-aided engineering software that numerically simulates the fatigue life
of elastomeric products, a materials characterization service, and project-oriented consulting services. Our
software is distributed globally in partnership with Dassault Systemes.

Imperfection in a Riks Analysis (ABAQUS)

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am performing a nonlinear post buckling using Riks method. I went through different tutorials for the same. I happen to see that an *IMPERFECTION is introduced while performing the non linear buckling analysis. Why is it done? How does/will the model react differently if the Imperfection is no introduced?

I wish to plot the graph of load v/s displacement for 1,2,3,4...10 times the critical buckling load during the post buckling analysis (Riks method). How do I do that?

HELLO,

I want to know if carbon nanotubes reinforced composites are ductile as I want to do hydroforming process by using ABAQUS or any other metal forming process that can be implemented.

If it is formable than what are values of yeild strength, ultimate tensile strength, plastic strain, etc.

the matrix material is polymer(PmPV).

THANK YOU.

How to model fastener with same force-displacement behavior for all translational directions in a plane in Abaqus?

<p>Hi everyone. I want to model the fasteners connecting a wood sheathing to a steel frame in Abaqus. I want to input the same force-displacement behavior for all translational directions in the plane of the sheathing (like a radial spring). <br /> <br /> I was using spring element type Spring2 (nonlinear) but I could define behavior in only 2 translational directions in the sheathing plane (X and Z). This made my model overly stiff after the elastic range. I read about the RADIAL-THRUST connector element but it does not seem to be the one.

ABAQUS Tracer sets and Illegal Memory Reference error in restart analysis

Dear all,

I am trying to simulate a large deformation problem using the ALE method in ABAQUS Explicit. When I try to request a Tracer Particles output in a restart analysis Abaqus crashes and the log file states that the packager stopped for an Illegal Memory Reference error. Did anyone experience the same issue? I was running Abaqus 6.13 on Linux

Selection of element bsed on the location in abaqus using python script.

Submitted by rajesh2902 on

Hi

I'm facing problem while writing a script for a parametric study.

After changing the each parameter the model changes and and the loaction of the interested element changes based on those parameters.

Also the element number changes.

Is there any command in python script to choose the elements based on the location ?

Thank you in advance

how to apply USDFLD to specific areas of a FE model

Submitted by x.yun on

Hi, I'm modeling a composite box structure consisting of several fillet zones. Now I know only those fillet zones will develop progressive damage. The question is how I can apply USDFLD into only thiese zones, instead of making subroutine calculation of the whole model. I suppose there should be an argument to specify the range of elements  into subroutine calulation, anyone knows that? Thx

Nonlinear stiffness for cohesive behaviour

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to define nonliner (or exponential) stiffness for cohesive behaviour (for ascending branch before damage)? In CAE it's only allowed to enter one value

 Thanks
