The department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah is hosting a Virtual Open House for prospective graduate students and we'd love for you to attend! We will be going over general program information, how to apply, and how to finance your degree. We’ll also have a faculty and student panel and virtual live lab tours! This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about our program and see if it's a good fit for you! Register below (space is limited due to Zoom capabilities). |
Multiple fully funded PhD positions are available in the group of Francesco Maresca (https://www.rug.nl/staff/f.maresca/) at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in Multi-scale mechanics modelling of materials, with focus on:
1. Hydrogen Embrittlement in Steels;
2. Solute strengthening in High Entropy Alloys.
My group has openings for post docs and grad students (January start date) who will use reactive molecular dynamics simulations to investigate surface and interface phenomena. Applicants must have a degree (BS/MS for PhD applicants or PhD for post doc applicants) in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry or a related field. Please contact Dr. Ashlie Martini at amartini [at] ucmerced.edu for more information.
An immediate postdoctoral position in design and 3D printing of fiber-reinforced polymer composites is available at the University of Colorado Denver. The project aims to develop an integrated workflow of modern composite materials, including optimization design, 3D printing, and application insertion. The position requires a strong background in computational analysis and design optimization in mechanics. The candidate is also expected to be interested in the 3D printing and experimental characterization of composites.
One fully-funded Ph.D. position is now available immediately in the area of computational nanomaterials in the group of Dr. Jihong Ma (https://sites.google.com/umn.edu/jihong-ma-group/home?authuser=0) at the University of Vermont.
The Memar Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is accepting applications for an immediate fully funded post-doctoral/research scientist position in injury biomechanics and computational modeling of traumatic brain injury. This position is highly collaborative and will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team from UTSA, Georgia Tech, Emory University, and Children Hospital of Philadelphia.
Several postdoctoral and graduate student openings with primary focus on biomechanics is available immediately in the Shenoy Research Group at the University of Pennsylvania. We are looking for strongly motivated candidates to work on NIH supported projects on 1) cell-matrix interactions in fibrosis and cancer, 2) nuclear mechano-transduction and 3) mechanical mechanisms of traumatic brain injury.
A fully supported Ph.D. position is available starting Jan 2021 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama on multiscale modeling of materials and processes. The objective of this project is to model the synthesis of 2D materials to design new processes to improve synthesis efficiency, as well as synthesis by the design of these materials, and to use machine learning algorithms to design materials and their synthesis process.
