Two postdoctoral positions available at NIST

Submitted by Zhengzhi Wang on

The Biosystems and Biomaterials Group at NIST has two postdoctoral positions available for recent PhD graduate to work on (1) simulation of photon transport (light migration) in polymeric composites (2) modeling of cell-material adhesive interactions. These interdisciplinary research programs require the prospective applicants to have a strong background in computational methods (finite element or MD). For the cell-material interaction, candidates with prior experience on biophysics are preferred.

We at ADINA R & D are looking for a Research & Development Engineer in Solids and Structures — general
finite element development. A PhD in applied mechanics or a related
discipline is highly desirable for this position. Applicant must have excellent
knowledge of finite element methods and good programming skills (Fortran
or C/C++).

PhD position "Carbone interphases in SiC/SiC composites"

Submitted by Vladislav Yastrebov on

We are looking for PhD candidates to study interfaces in SiC/SiC fiber composites. The project is in collaboration with CEA and Centre des Matériaux, MINES ParisTech under the supervision of Marie-Hélène Berger (MINES ParisTech), Cédric Sauder (DMN/SRMA/LTMEX) and Sylvie Poissonnet (DMN/SRMP).

Title : "Influence of Carbone interphases in SiC/SiC composites based on Hi-Nicalon S and Tyranno SA3 fibers"
