Call for Papers - 10th International Symposium on the Mechanics of Composite and Multifunctional Materials

This symposium is focused on advancements in the research, development, analysis, application, and manufacturing of composite, multifunctional, and hybrid materials. The scope includes experimental techniques; materials characterization; manufacturing, assembly, and repair; theoretical and numerical modeling; failure mechanisms and detection; and novel application development for these materials. A primary goal of the symposium is for participants to exchange ideas and promote collaboration to resolve fundamental and application problems.

We, the AMD IiSS Technical Committee organizers, are pleased to continue our long-standing tradition of arranging a symposium on "Instabilities in Solids and Structures" at the annual ASME-International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE).  The Congress this year will be held in New Orleans, LA during the period of October 29-November 2, 2023

HEMI/MSEE Impact Research Workshop and Short Course, July 17-21, 2023

Johns Hopkins University’s Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI), in collaboration with the Materials Science in Extreme Environments (MSEE) University Research Alliance, will host a workshop and short course on impact research experiments on July 17-21, 2023. The emphasis of the event will be on impact research experiments performed using gas guns, powder guns, and electromagnetic launchers.
