question about abaqus

Submitted by rainy_boy on

Hi guys

I want to simulate a problem with abaqus, but during runing of my project, percent of process not increas for axample when i change mesh sizes to biger runing go up to 50 % and when i change mesh sizes to smaller than the previos size,it occure again but in 25%

is there any one that know about this problem,i'm trying to solve it for 2weeks but i cann't.

I'm waiting for your suggestions...

questions about abaqus software package

Submitted by Loay-kh on

Hello

I was analyzing pavement subjected to traffic wheel load. I was using the load as cyclic pressure. Suppose an amount of pressure with 200 different time frame. But I am not getting the right result as measured. So, would you please help on applying moving load? How can I assigned that load as moving load? where can I find the step load function? how can I determine the initial increment? is it more realistic to simulate the wheel load as dynamic? how can I do that?

Thanks a lot.

 Best regards,

Loay

cantilever column

Submitted by hany_333 on

hello all,

i modeled a cantilever column with eccentric loading to simulate half of ordinary column, i get a small displacement at cantilever tip (equals 1/3 of reality,) so i want ahelp a bout updating geometry during analysis in order to getting effect of second order/nonlinear effects due to eccentric load.my software is ANSYS

thanks for all,

Constructing the extension velocity or updating the signed distance of a level set

Dear all,
I had been looking forward to use level sets to keep track of the surface in a simulation, but one thing has me stumped. Since many here work with XFEM, I was hoping someone might have some valuable input.

I want to simulate flows driven by a surface tension. This will typically yield holes, which will close rapidly. At the point at which the hole disappears, the signed distance function will have a discontinuity.
I would expect this to happen in pretty much any fluid simulation, but I can't see any way to handle it.

boundary condition in plate analysis

Submitted by M.Hassan Mansouri on

Dear All

I have a problem with some theories in plate analysis such as bending and buckling of plates.

you know that in various theories of plates, equations have different order and different number of boundary condiotions must be apply. for example in classisal theory of plates we have 4 B.C.,  and in first order shear deformation theory the number of B.C. are 5.

I am confused, how should I recognize the number of required B.C. in each theory?

Mansouri
