Can I draw your attention to a Chair position and Lectureship in Bioengineering at the School of Engineering, Durham University. While the curent Chair position is occupied by an experimentalist, the postitions are open to candidates with interests in computational modelling and I would encourage anyone in that area to take a look.

I am working on a coupled fluid structure problem , precisley on the elasto-acoustic mode, of a system consist on a cube which define the fluid domain coupled with an elastic plate.
The boundry conditions is:
- all the face of the cube is regid only the face coupled with the plate
- the plate is simply supported at the interface

I am modelling a contact problem using Abaqus and I am trying to use remeshing hoping to get more accurate results in critical locations. But I encounter following error:" the area of 7 elements is zero, small or negative". Despite of the definitions of the remeshing rules always the error message appears when size of elements is quite a small. My goal is to get minimum element size 1E-7m in critical location. The error message appears much before that goal. I am very grateful if someone could help.
