UMAT in multiscale modeling

Submitted by yax on

Hi all,

I am using multiscale modeling in my analysis. This is what I am trying to do:

-After solving the RVE problem on microscale, I got the stress-strain relationship realated to my RVE and now I need to create a UMAT soubroutines for abaqus in order to call it at the integration points of the macro model.

Is there a possibility to create a UMAT from stress-strain curve related to a representative volume element? How can I do that? Could you please give me an hint?

Thank you very much in advance for your help

Best regards

Dear Colleague:

The 2013 summer meeting of ASME Applied Mechanics Division will be held jointly with the Society of Engineering Science at Brown University, Providence, RI, July 28-31. We are pleased to invite you to a session on Dynamic Stability of Structural Systems, under the symposium on Instability in Solids and Structures that is being organized by the AMD Technical Committee.

Difficulty in using connector uniaxial behavior Abaqus

Submitted by Rojit on

Dear Abaqus User,

Is there any other possible way to model connector uniaxial behavior (cyclic/hysteretic behavior) without using dynamic explicit analysis?  In the manual, it is mentioned that connector uniaxial behavior can be used only with explicit analysis. I am having problem when I chose to run dynamic explicit analysis. The model runs fine with general static step (using cyclic displacement as amplitude). I just need to run quasi static analysis as there is nothing to do with inertia effect.
