Dear all,
We would like to draw your attention to the symposium "Dislocation Mechanism Based Crystal Plasticity Theory, Computation and Experiment at Multi Scales" we are organizing at the XV International conference on computational plasticity(COMPLAS 2019). The conference will take place in Barcelona Spain,3-5 September 2019. More information on the conference can be found on the web site:
There is an opportunity to invent interpenetrating lattice materials in order to design SOFT and HARD meta-materials of any given stiffness, strength and toughness. The actuation response due to seepage of a liquid through the lattice needs to be modelled by making use of experimental results from within the group. Currently, lattice materials, such as the 2D honeycomb and the 3D octet truss, exist in a single material on a single length scale. The challenge is to fill the intervening gaps in the lattice with a second lattice in order to improve the macroscopic properties.
Please consider submitting an abstract to the Symposium Architected Materials: Design, Fabrication and Characterization for the 2019 Mach Conference which will take place on April 3-5 in Annapolis, MD.
The deadline for abstract submission is November 1.
Organizers: Stavros Gaitanaros (JHU), Jamie Guest (JHU), Jordan Raney (UPenn)
Dear Colleagues,
The Time-Dependent Materials Technical Division of the Society of Experimental Mechanics invites you to submit an abstract to Track 2,“Challenges in Mechanics of Time-Dependent Materials” at the SEM International Congress & Exposition on Experimental and Applied Mechanics (Reno, NV, June 3-6, 2019).
We have a Research Scientist position to fill. Mainly two research directions: use advanced computational methods and work with experimental researchers to do 1) structural health monitoring (SHM), 2) vibroacoustic analysis.
Requirements:
PhD in Engineering / Physics or equivalent
Strong background in acoustics, vibro-acoustics, noise control, SHM/NDT
Experience in numerical simulation software such as ANSYS / ABAQUS, Virtual Lab / Acoustics, Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), SOLIDWORKS
I wonder if there is any subroutine interface to have access to nodal ( not integral point ) displacement in abaqus DURING the analysis phase. Suppose I have a field that is going to be used in UMAT and that is dependent on displacements of all nodes (presumably stored in an array) from the last increment. Is this possible to be implemented within Abaqus?
Thank you all !
