MIT Postdoctoral Position in Finite Element Analysis for DNA nanotechnology

Submitted by markbathe on

The Laboratory for Computational Biology and Biophysics at MIT (http://lcbb.mit.edu/) is seeking a highly motivated recent PhD graduate with expertise in nonlinear finite element analysis, ideally in the area of beam theory, with a keen interest in applying this knowledge to molecular modeling of DNA-based nanostructures. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, PhD-level training in finite element analysis, and a strong record of productivity publishing in high quality archival journals.

Postdoc Position in Structural Mechanics

Submitted by jansen on

At Leibniz Universität Hannover, Institute of Structural analysis, a Postdoc position is currently available in the context of a three year project on cracks in photovoltaic modules. The objective of the project is the development of numerical models to simulate microcrack initiation and propagation in photovoltaic modules. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with a renowned solar energy research institute and an industrial partner.

Postdoc Positions in Ultrasonics at the Ohio State University

Submitted by Jia Li on

Post-doctoral position is available in the area of ultrasonic material characterization and nondestructive evaluation (strong background and experience in ultrasonic
experiment and modeling are required
). The position is supported
from research grants. The focus area is ultrasonic study of
nonhomogenous materials like polycrystalline materials, composites and
adhesive bonds. State of the art ultrasonic laboratories
and other characterization facilities are available. More details will
be provided to interested individuals.

Abaqus Low cycle fatigue - Hysteresis Energy Criteria

Submitted by sidd04mech on

Hi,

I am trying to do Low cycle fatigue analysis in abaqus, and
according to the Documentation, for bulk material damage initiation and damage
evolution definition, I can use the criteria (and type for Damage evolution) as
"Hysteresis Energy". And have to define 4 material variables C1 to
C4.

But in the abaqus material library (in abaqus-CAE) i could find
all the other criteria but not the "Hysteresis energy". I also tried
to define it in the *.inp file but abaqus could not read it (apparently wasn't
writing it correctly).
