This
PhD position is potentially available at the doctoral school MEGA of
INSA Lyon.

The
funding will be assigned only after a competition and consists of a
net monthly salary of almost 1450 Euros for three years. This
competition will take place in Lyon during the month of june 2012.
Eventual travel expenses could be reimbursed to the pre-selected
candidate if coming from abroad.

Professor Luigia Binda, one of the foremost authorities in masonry research, and in particular the restoration of historic buildings, steps down from her role as European Regional Editor of the journal. Professor Andrew Boyd, from McGill University, Canada and Professor Amir Mirmiran from Florida International University, USA who served as North American Regional Editors for the past four years, are also retiring.

Good mourning, i have a question, i need to draw a geometry and mesh it, and then turn the mesh datas (nodes and their coordinates, elements and their connectivities ... etc) in a data file to use it in a program written on fortran or another language i want to read the datas from a file to fill out victors and matrices within my program, i point out that it is for a fracture problem, please may any one suggest some free or open source software to to 2D or 3D meshing with a suited FE for fracture problems under quasi static load. Hi,

Dear all,

We all know that J can be calculated by J=1/E(KI^2+KII^2).

but how to calculate the KI and KII from J.

I facing this pronlem as Abaqus can only calculated J integral for epfm, but I need the KI and KII as I only got K threshold and KIC for the material.
