Concrete compression test - Error

Hello everyone,

I have modeled compression test on concrete cube in Abaqus/Explicit. For concrete I have used Concrete damaged plasticity model. I have assigned displacement as BC (Smooth amplitude) in Reference Point at the top of the cube, and I have coupled RP with the top of the cube. For concrete cube I have used C3D8R elements.

For history output I have requested Reaction force in RP and energies for whole model.

But job won't finish. I get an error:

ABAQUS Reinforced Concrete Beam Model

Hi All,

I am trying to model a simply supported reinforced concrete beam with longitudinal reinforcement. I am using 8-node solid elements for the concrete, and 2-node truss elements for the longitudinal reinforcement bars. I have embedded the reinforcement bars in the concrete using an Embedded Region constraint. I am then applying a displacement at the midspan (deflection control). I am using the Concrete Damaged Plasticity model for the concrete. My model begins to run but will not converge. Some of the error messages that I get are:

Concrete Damaged PLasticity - Effect of Kc

I'm trying to develop yield surface of a material for a particular value of hydrostatic stress(since CDP model uses drucker-prager hypothesis).. In user manual, it is given that, for Kc value of 1, i should get a circle, and for Kc value of 0.667, i should get a shape of inverted triangle in deviatoric plane.. But I have tested for 3 values of Kc, 0.667, 0.9 and 1, for all, i'm getting the same inverted triangle in the deviatoric plane.

Stress-Strain curve for Concrete Damaged Plasticity in Abaqus

Hello,

I am using Concrete Damaged Plasticity model. My parameters are correct but I am not able to get the desired stress-strain curve for my model.

Can anyone help me with how do I plot the stress strain curve for it (Nominal Stress vs Strain, Reaction force vs displacement or anything else)?

I want to know the exact procedure to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Modeling of a reinforced concrete beam under a rolling load.

Hi, we're trying to model with ABAQUS a reinforced concrete beam under a rolling load. We want to investigate the compressive low cycle fatigue of reinforced concrete elements under a variable bending moment. We are using a Static Step (total step time: 18000 sec) and a concentrated force applied on the middle cross section with the following load history*:

ABAQUS - Problem concerning "concrete damaged plasticity" model

Hi all,

I'm trying to solve a frame structure in ABAQUS. I'm using 3D beam elements (B31) so that shear and bending stresses may appear. This is ok for an elastic analysis, but I also want to perform a failure analysis of this frame. Therefore, I'm trying to use the "concrete damaged plasticity" material in ABAQUS.  But I've read in the manual I can't use B31 elements with this material.

Does anyone know how to combine the "concrete damaged plasticity" material in a 3D beam analysis? Any other suggestions?
