Faculty Positions in School of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics 宁波大学机械工程与力学学院招聘启事

Submitted by Ji Wang on

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, Ningbo University, is looking for cadidates for all subjects in the broad field of mechanical engineering and mechanics.  In addition to traditional field of impact and shock waves, piezoelectric devices, material durability, and metal forming, the school are also initiating new directions like vechicle engineering, fluid mechanics, occean engineering, and other related subjects.

Positions in ALL ranks are available.  Currently we are taking applications for 2014 school year.

PhD position "Carbone interphases in SiC/SiC composites"

Submitted by Vladislav Yastrebov on

We are looking for PhD candidates to study interfaces in SiC/SiC fiber composites. The project is in collaboration with CEA and Centre des Matériaux, MINES ParisTech under the supervision of Marie-Hélène Berger (MINES ParisTech), Cédric Sauder (DMN/SRMA/LTMEX) and Sylvie Poissonnet (DMN/SRMP).

Title : "Influence of Carbone interphases in SiC/SiC composites based on Hi-Nicalon S and Tyranno SA3 fibers"

Assistant Professor Position in Mechanical Engineering at University of Cincinnati

Submitted by Yijun Liu on

The Mechanical Engineering program of the School of Dynamic Systems at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. The position is available as early as in fall 2013. Candidates for this position should hold (by the time of employment) an earned doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field. The successful candidate is expected to build a strong funded research program, publish in archival journals, advise graduate students, and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering.

6 CDs in cell mechanics(mechanobiology)

Submitted by Tian Zhi Luo on

There are six distinguished biophysicist in cell mechanics field (their research interests cover much broader areas) and the abbreviations of their first names are either C or D. They are Dr. David Weitz (Harvard U.), Dr. Christopher Chen (U. Penn.), Dr. Dennis Discher (U. Penn.), Dr. Denis Wirtz (JHU), Dr. Douglas Robinson (JHU), and Dr. Daniel Fletcher (U.C. Berkeley). These six scientists use both experimental and theoretical approaches to investigate the biological responses of proteins and cells to mechanical stimuli, such as forces and geometrical constraints. Their research extends from molecular scale to cellular level to tissue level.

Dear all,

Proceedings of the V International PhD workshop dealing with durability of concrete, which was held in Finland in February, have been published. The publication is available for free download at:  http://www.vtt.fi/inf/pdf/technology/2012/T65.pdf . Many interesting and innovative topic, dealing both with experimental and numerical research of concrete durability, are presented.
