We invite applications for a postdoctoral position and fully funded Ph.D. positions at the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in the general area of advanced manufacturing with an emphasis on dissimilar materials joining innovation and high-speed solid-state additive manufacturing. The research will serve as key enabler for high-volume production of next-generation multi-material lightweight structures in automobiles, trains, ships, and aircraft.

There is an immediate opening of a postdoctoral researcher in the Mechanics of Soft Materials Lab (https://www.msm.seas.ucla.edu/) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. The research will be on experimental mechanics of soft materials, and fabrication of soft machines. The successful candidate should have a PhD degree with expertise in experimental polymer chemistry and polymer materials.
