The 23rd International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics  (ICTAM2012) will be held in Beijing, China, from 19 to 24 August, 2012. The Congress is hosted by The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM).



  The Congress venue is the China National Convention Center (CNCC) which is ideally located in the heart of the Olympic Green of Beijing, adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube).

ABSTRACT DEADLINE APPROACHING 31st July 2012

Dear Colleagues

We have received a healthy number of abstracts already for CM13 but we invite you to consider submitting one if you have not done so already. The deadline is 31st July 2012 with full papers due October 15th 2012 (so that they can be reviewed). Please visit the conference website for more details, or contact me directly. I hope some of you can join us in England in 2013.

European Commission' s JRC (Joint Research Centre) is organizing a workshop on physics based modeling of material properties and experimental observations in collaboration with METU (Middle East Technical University). The workshop will be held in Ankara on 22-23 October 2012.

The Workshop will include lectures by keynote speakers: W. Curtin, F. Dunne, L. Malerba, J-F Molinari, A. Needleman and B. Svendsen, and presentations by participants (oral or posters).

A joint workshop of the ISSMGE TC101-TC105: Experimental
Micromechanics for Geomaterials will be held on 23rd-24th May
2013 at The University of Hong Kong.



Abstracts are now invited, until the 1st October 2012. They should
be 200-300 words in length, written in English, and show relevance
to the theme of the workshop. Abstracts should be sent to Ms Bridget
