SYMPOSIUM ON SOLID MECHANICS
Symposium Co-Chairs:
Dr. Hamid Akbarzadeh (McGill University) and Dr. Dan Romanyk (University of Alberta)
THE SYMPOSIUM
The Solid Mechanics Technical Committee of Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) invites you to submit a paper or an abstract to the 2021 CSME International Congress to be held at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, from June 27-30, 2021.
I recommend people with an interest in working with 3D image data and medical devices attend this upcoming webcast between Synopsys Simpleware and CADFEM Medical, which'll take place on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020.

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract for the ‘Shock & Blast’ session under Track 1: Dynamic Behavior of Materials. This symposium is part of the 2021 SEM Annual Conference & Exposition on Experimental and Applied Mechanics (Virtual or Albuquerque, NM, USA, June 14-17, 2021).
Dear Colleagues,
We are organizing a focus session on "02.01.15 Physics of Bio-Inspired Materials (DSOFT, DBIO, DPOLY) [same as 04.01.42, 01.01.54]" for the 2021 American Physical Society Meeting (March 15-19), which will be an online meeting. This session covers most of the classical and emerging research topics of bio-inspired materials.
If you're working with image data and CAD, then I recommend checking out this upcoming webinar on linking Simpleware software and SOLIDWORKS on October 21st.
Details on how to register are here.
Best,
Philippe
If you're interested in how mechanical property predictions can be made of Additive Manufactured microstructures, then I recommend attending this webinar being held in a few weeks.
The ICME Conference 2020, a HxGN LIVE event is a 3-days intensive online conference on October 6-8, 2020 for executives, R&D, manufacturing professionals, engineers, and designers to learn, explore and share about Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) to enable companies to blur the boundaries between manufacturing, materials and part performance for the optimal design of innovative quality products.
The USNC/TAM will be hosting on August 27 a webinar on Machine Learning in Mechanics. The event will be recorded, and the videos will be posted on the USNC/TAM site afterward. The attached flyer includes the Zoom link to register.
This upcoming webcast is ideal for anyone working on orthopaedics simulation, particularly in revision surgeries. It should also be a good opportunity to learn about some of the altest image-based methods for working with CT data, for example with the hip.
