Stress Relaxation

I would like to seek comments on : Room temperature stress relaxation and governing mechanisms that contribute to the plasticity that occurs during this process. As, most of the available work on relaxation is done at elevated temperatures.

I have also attach papers by Prof Hart and Prof Krempl that did throw some light on this particular subject.

Evoution of Yield surfaces: Past and Future Trend - Part 3

Submitted by Amit Pandey on

My last two posts on this series

Part- 1 (node/9016) and

Part- 2 (node/9073)

were mainly focussed on the tension–torsion (σ11–√3σ12) stress space. This paper will be the final post on this series and will focus mainly on the behavior of  both of these alloys under tension–tension (σ11σ22)space and conclude this ongoing research.

Evoution of Yield surfaces: Past and Future Trend - Part 1

It is essential to know the amount of springback for a given forming process, so that the process or the design of the tool can be modified to obtain the desired product shape. This requires a comprehensive understanding of loading and unloading processes, and determination of elastic constants with finite plastic deformation which, in turn, require precise determination of subsequent yield surfaces.
