I am a beginner in working with Abaqus(v 6.3),I want to model a simple piping system,I use pipe and elbow elements,in section assignment, I select a beam section for the part .But When I run the job,an error occurs due to element properties in section assignment,when I use beam element instead of pipe there is not such an error in job-run.
but I want to use pipe and elbow elements...what can I do to solve this problem?
I am trying to built a model for a laminated angle-plied plate, which has different fibres orientation in each plate. But I have a problem in materilas property as the Abaqus told me after analysis andmake error. The error is that the properties of the model in not assigned well. I have assign them as shell composite and make the local co-ordinate orientation.
I have tried to use homogeneous material and enter the Engineering contants in all directions and by just changing the local axis orintation, it works. But I don't know if this is right or not.
Need advice plz
What's a general relation between dislocation density (scalar) and plastic strains (tensor) in 3d? any references? thanks.

Hello, I'm working in my PhD thesis and at the moment I have to solve the Richards' Equation in 1D.
C(h)*Dh/Dt = D/Dx[K(h)*Dh/Dx] + DK/Dx
with some boundary and initial condition.
I usually work in matlab and I need some point to start. If some of you know a matlab code that solve this kind of problem please tell me something.
