Learn How St. Gobain is Saving Time and Money with Abaqus and Isight

Submitted by SIMULIA on

We just can't bottle up this exciting story...

I'm excited to share a recently published article posted on
Design World entitled, Keeping
carbonation bottled up with FEA
. In it, author Chris Hardee had the
opportunity to interview Xavier Brajer of Verallia at Saint-Gobain’s Research
Center. Xavier explained how he and his 15-person Mechanics of Materials Group
in the company’s R&D department use Abaqus and Isight to save time and
money when designing glass bottles.

Stress Analysis (Static & Dynamic test) of ISO Tank Container

Submitted by Rudraprasad Bh… on

Dear Colleagues,

I'm trying to model the ISO tests (as per ISO 1496-3) for a tank container subjected to static and dynamic loading using finite element technique. Regrading this work sufficient research papers are not available. Another thing is that, for fail-safe design and fatigue analysis there is no such documents known to me. Can you please help me in this regard?

Guidance from experienced colleague is highly solicited.

cutting for an aeronautic aluminium alloy(A2024-T351)

Submitted by rachid83 on

Hello every body,

I am working on the simulation of cutting for aluminium alloy (A2024-T351) in abaqus, i use Johnson cook model

I want to introduce several critical values of damage (D1=0.1and D2=0.1,0.5,0.7), how can i do that in abaqus CAE

IF anyone would please help me

Piezoelectric Actuator Position Constraint

Submitted by mhdiab on
Hey,

I am trying to mount a piezoelectric actuator(PZT) on a plate. The PZT is rectangular and I have created a tie constraint between a surface on the bar and one of the PZT's surfaces. How do I put the PZT at a certain location on the bar in the assembly? I am assigning a coincident point position constraint between a point on the bar and a point on the PZT, is that sufficient? Thank you.

Regards.
